This document explains how to install ghc-vis on Arch Linux.

Install [haskell-core]

Visit https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ArchHaskell#haskell-core and install the [haskell-core] repository.

Install dependencies of ghc-vis

pacman -S gtk2hs-buildtools haskell-fgl haskell-transformers-base \
  haskell-cairo haskell-glib haskell-colour haskell-polyparse \
  haskell-temporary haskell-wl-pprint-text cabal-install

Install ghc-vis

Now only the dependencies that are not in the [haskell-core] repository need to be compiled with cabal:

cabal update
cabal install ghc-vis

To use ghc-vis you have to load its ghci file in GHCi. To do this automatically when GHCi is started run you have to run something like this, adapted to your GHC and ghc-vis versions:

echo ":script /home/def/.cabal/share/x86_64-linux-ghc-7.10.3/ghc-vis-0.8/ghci" >> ~/.ghci
